Since the beginning of the "robot revolution", many enterprises have set foot on the "no-return road" of non-standard automation equipment in factories, and the unmanned factories also seem to become the development trend of the future factory. However, the whole automatic assembly line has appeared in large enterprises sporadically. Although the government has vigorously promoted the policy of replacing people with robots, many enterprises have received subsidies from the state to "hang" the equipment in the production workshop.
Mistake 1: introducing robots is to carry out automatic upgrading and transformation
The application of robots is one of the most representative aspects of automatic upgrading. But it doesn't solve everything. Pneumatic-hydraulic control and non-standard equipment automation are also very important means to achieve automation. Especially for some special applications, what robots cannot solve can be solved by non-standard automation equipment. Automatic upgrade and transformation, shouldn’t focus only on the robot, but on a variety of channels.
Mistake 2: the robot can be used once bought
As an intelligent device, the robot cannot be used just after simple installation and debugging. If the development (or secondary development) and application of robots are ignored, many robots will not be used properly. In the analogy of robots and athletes, a group of good athletes (robots) and a good coach (systems integrator) are the keys to winning an entire team.
Mistake 3: automatic upgrade and transformation can be completed in one step
The real automation upgrade is not a simple job or machine replacement, but an extremely complex system project. Automatic transformation needs to be carried out according to one's ability, started gradually from relatively mature automation technology, and from the site where the factory urgently needs to upgrade and transform. Therefore, we should not pursue one-step completion.
Mistake 4: any process can be replaced by automatic equipment
The products produced by the automatic production line should be large enough. The product design and process should be advanced, stable and reliable, and remain basically unchanged for a long time. Not all processes are suitable for automated transformation. The adoption of an automatic line in a large number of products has significant economic benefits.
Mistake 5: to achieve automation transformation is to achieve industry 4.0
Recently, the concept of industry 4.0 and made in China 2025 are so hot that many enterprises blindly follow the trend. Manufacturing companies should pay more attention to practical technology and solutions to problems. The era of industry 4.0 will come into being when it develops to the generalized management automation with information as the core technology.
Then, if the enterprise needs to use the system of industrial robots, the first thing to do is to analyze its own production process and understand its own needs.
Step1 Analyze and understand your needs
A. Listen and carefully understand your needs
The use of automated systems for assembling production workshops and manufacturing is intended to maximize the efficiency ratio between product production and quality control. We need to go to the production department and be familiar with the production process. It is necessary to study which processes are shortboards in the production process and which processes can be automated instead of manual ones.
The investment returns are analyzed on the basis of the combination of short-term needs and long-term goals. Don't look only briefly today or a few years from now and decide on the equipment you need to buy.
B. Train and recruit people
If the technology needs to be innovated, there must be a relative need for technical personnel. The automatic assembly workshop will inevitably have a lot of equipment, so the company's personnel need to have the ability to learn quickly and be familiar with the integrator system as soon as possible.
C. Define the responsible party
Both the integrator and the end user have the responsibility to ensure that the production process is correct. The Integrator needs to provide equipment and expert guidance to meet customer requirements as required. It is the customer's responsibility to provide the relevant information needed for the production equipment.
Step2 Choose reliable system integrators
The industry of industrial robot automation integration has not been established for several years in China. At present, there is no reliable level of integrators in China, so we cannot protect our choices according to these associations or official certifications. So what kind of integrators are relatively reliable?
A. Suitable scale
As a supplier of the robot system, the scale is very important. This is a large and complete robot supplier, such as the domestic Sinsun, and overseas ABB, which deals in system integration and robot ontology. It is also a small but sophisticated supplier of robots with only a handful of employees, such as UR and the KMT.
Big doesn't necessarily mean better, and small doesn't mean less.
A qualified integrator is targeted at industry application integration. They are not only familiar with industrial robots, but also need to understand the industry's production standards, production requirements, production processes. A good robot company doesn’t mean they can invent a good robot system. The integrator must sell the robot that can produce the customer's product, not the robot itself.
C. Professional engineer team and project management team
When contacting professional robot system integrators, their professional technicians or salesmen will generally provide detailed engineering management and implementation details, listen to your requirements, and suggest you conduct a feasibility analysis or early trial production. You can get to know the technical personnel of the integrator during the trial production to see whether there are experts and engineers with years of working experience or a large number of young graduates.
Professional robot system integrators, usually have their standard products and their corresponding technical documentation. Generally, they will make independent technical documents for different customers. If it is a foreign integrator, it will also provide the translation documents, of course, this part may produce extra fees.
E. Promised spare parts
Although the stability of industrial robots has improved greatly in recent years, they are still machines. No one in the world has ever invented the perpetual motion machine or the machine that will never wear out, so your robot will still fail. Therefore, it is important to know whether your supplier can provide you with the spare parts you need.
F. Professional services
If your company is a small and medium-sized company, training a technical waiter for this system is a huge cost, that is, you may have to rely on your supplier for most of your problems.
A professional system integrator will have a dedicated service department to deal with equipment service problems. They typically provide phone support, email support, or their devices are equipped with remote support.
G. Clear warranty
Finally, we need to know some questions about warranty. What must be clear is the time limit for the warranty they provide.
